For years, I walked others through the hardest passages of their lives. When my own turn came, I went looking for a soft place to land. Someone who would understand and validate my experiences and help me find clarity.
Someone whose only agenda was for me to live the most authentic version of my life. Someone who would walk through the dark with me and not be afraid. Someone who would make sure I was not the only one in the room, and put the right tools in my hands.
I could not find it. So I built it.
Alongside is the soft place to land I could not find when I needed it most. It’s personal support meeting you right where you are.

You Do Not Have to Wait to Be Supported
Alongside is the name for the way I walk with women through this. Not ahead of you, pointing. Not behind you, pushing. Beside you, at your pace, through the part of your life that feels too tender to hand to anyone.
The name comes from my years as a chaplain. I learned there that the most honest thing you can offer a person in a hard passage is your steady presence next to them. That is what this is, steady company through a season that asks everything of you.
There are two ways to walk it with me. Same heart, two kinds of closeness. One is shared, a small group of women on the same road at the same time. One is private, the two of us. Neither is the braver choice. They are simply built for different lives.

What is Included in Alongside Community
There is a particular relief that comes the moment you realize you are not the only one, that the thing you thought made you strange is sitting in the woman across from you too. Alongside Community is built around that relief.
It is a small group of women walking this road together over four months, with Barbara and me beside you the whole way. We move through This Authentic Life live, as a group, so that every piece of it lands in a room where you are understood. You will have us for guidance and the women for company, and between our times together you will have a private space of your own inside Authentically Us, so the conversation never has to stop at the edge of a session.
This is for the woman who is tired of carrying it by herself, who does not want to do this alone and does not have to. The group opens on set dates a few times a year, so there is a rhythm to step into and a cohort already forming to receive you.
