Lotus Community Coaching
The Lotus Support Groups are run in collaboration with two amazing later-in-life peeps who bring so much experience and knowledge to Lotus Community Coaching.
Barbara Rowlandson is our relationship coach. She will help those navigating/recovering from a catalyst or first LGBTQIA+ relationship. She will also be helping with all the questions regarding dating and those dreaded apps! Barbara jokes there isn’t one she hasn’t been on.
What is most powerful is our groups. Meeting with other courageous women who are part of this experience is life altering and we have several opportunities to meet every week. You are not ALONE. You have coaches (who get it, and have been through it) and a community that understands and is waiting to help, guide, and love you through this experience.
What is Lotus Community Coaching All About?
- This is about confronting fears and answering questions.
- This is about having a space to share our stories and to hear others.

Meet Your Community Leaders
Anne-Marie Zanzal is an ordained minister, certified grief counselor, author, speaker, and coming out coach. Anne-Marie came out in 2016, at age 52 and afterbeing married to a man for nearly 3 decades. Anne-Marie started Lotus Community Coaching to help women/non-binary people through the grief and discomfort that goes with coming out later in life, leading them to a place where they can joyfully step into their Queer identity.
Today, Anne-Marie is a respected, go-to expert on the subject of coming out later in life, and is frequently consulted in radio, magazine, podcast, and e-publications. She lives in Tennessee with her wife, architectural photographer Tonda McKay.
Barbara began her work with Anne-Marie as a content marketer, developing course and online media content, and producing the Coming Out & Beyond: LGBTQIA+ Stories podcast. Under Anne-Marie’s supervision, Barbara has expanded her role and now works as a coach for other later-in-lifers in Anne-Marie’s program. Barbara came out in 2017 at age 45 as the result of having a catalyst relationship. She has since moved on from that relationship and has become experienced in the world of lesbian dating and finding community.
Barbara lives on a flower farm in the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario, Canada, where she fosters her love of horticulture and shares many nature walks with her Golden Retrievers, Stella and Rosie.
What My Clients Have to Say About Coaching & Support Groups
I highly recommend Anne-Marie’s coaching and support groups. She not only helped me through my personal journey to accept myself, to find and live my authentic life, but she also helped me see larger issues. She helped me realize the difference between those in my life who might “accept” me and those who embraced me. It is a hard journey for anyone, but making it late in life has some added stress because you have to dismantle parts of your old life in the process. I do not know if I would have been able to make this journey without coaching from Anne-Marie and the community she provided me through the support group.
