Olivia Hill was born and raised in Nashville Tennessee. She is the parent of two children and came out at fifty two as a trans woman. 

She served 10 years in the US Navy and worked at Vanderbilt University for 25 years. She is on the Board of Directors for Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Vanderbilt Women’s Committee fighting for Women’s rights, and was elected to the University Staff Advisory Council and the Equity Diversity and Inclusion committee.
