Kristin Jones (she/they) is a genderqueer and bi parent of 3, spouse, speech-language pathologist, and small business owner. They are passionate about social justice and human rights. In their 15-year career, Kristin has worked in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient clinics in major medical centers, specializing in neurological distorders that impact speech, language, voice, and cognitive skills.

In recent years, Kristin has added a new area of expertise: serving the transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary communities through providing accessible Gender-Affirming Voice Training. In this episode of Coming Out & Beyond, host Anne-Marie Zanzal asks Kristin to share their coming out story, and Kristin reveals what it was like to come out as bi and genderqueer within a straight-presenting marriage, their journey in overcoming OCD, and speaks to the affirming nature of voice training for the trans community. Music that Kristin associates with coming out is anything by Brandi Carlile, but especially ‘The Story.’ A book that has changed Kristin’s perspective on life is Pema Chodran’s ‘Comfortable with Uncertainty.’
